I found a while ago, that a fun motivation for my students was a perk/reward for a strong result on an assessment. I share a deep love for anime with my students and I love to draw (obviously) so I started drawing anime characters on quizzes/tests where students did well (in classic teacher red ink of course).
Today, this has turned into a deal with my students, for my IB Biologists: get a 7 on a quiz/test, get a requested drawing and for my grade 10s: top grade, requested drawing. It has proved quite successful!
As a note, these drawings are not originals, but I find drawings/pictures online and replicate them myself (usually on the assessment itself).
